Mental Health Specializations :
Racial/Multi-cultural Health
I help people from historically marginalized backgrounds work through acculturative stress, racial trauma, and pressures like the Asian Model Minority Myth. Using a strengths-based approach, we explore how identity and culture shape your mental health — without asking you to set aside who you are to heal.
OCD & Adult Neurodivergence (ASD/ADHD)
I treat OCD using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard, evidence-based treatment for OCD and related phobias. I also work with adults navigating autism spectrum and ADHD traits — including those just discovering or confirming a diagnosis later in life, often after years of masking or being misdiagnosed. Treatment is tailored to which of these you’re navigating, rather than treated as one-size-fits-all.
Mood Disorders
For depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders, I combine CBT, ACT, and somatic approaches to address both thought patterns and the way distress shows up in your body. Treatment is tailored to your specific symptoms and goals, not a one-size-fits-all script.
Relationship Issue
Whether you’re navigating conflict, communication breakdowns, or questions about a relationship’s future, we work together to identify unhelpful patterns and build healthier ways of relating — to partners, family, or yourself.
Life/Health Transition
Big life changes — a new diagnosis, a career shift, becoming a caregiver, aging — can destabilize even people who normally cope well. I help clients process the transition and rebuild a sense of footing, drawing on my background working with geriatric and rehabilitation populations.
Chronic Health Conditions
Living with a chronic illness affects more than the body. I support clients in processing the emotional and identity impact of long-term health conditions, building coping strategies that fit a life that includes ongoing medical care.

I have been a psychologist for over 15 years. My post-doctoral fellowship was completed in The St. Louis Behavioral Institute in St. Louis, Missouri. Evidence-Based treatment had been established in the midwest and just making headway in the East Coast during my training. That is where I learned Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold standard for OCD and diagnoses with othere phobias.
Back in NY, I have worked in nursing facilities as part of a interdisciplinary team to serve the geriatric and physical rehab populations. Helping them navigate the challenges of long term skilled nursing care or a new chapter after a medical event has been very rewarding. My skill set has expanded since then to integrate additional therapeutic approaches and include life skills for my patients to employ in their healing by honoring their humanity, not just simply seeing them as “patients”.
I have a passion to work with people from historically marginalized identities, with specialized training in racial identity and multicultural issues in mental health . I help people improve their quality of life from ailments such as acculturative stress, the Asian Model Minority Myth and racial trauma. I work best with people who are curious, high functioning and motivated to learn new ways of developing a healthy relationship with their thoughts, feelings and behaviors with somatic therapy, CBT, ACT and other therapies to improve resilience from a strength-based perspective.
Have Questions?
Frequently Asked
Questions
How does billing work?
I am an out-of-network provider and do not have contact with your insurance company. I submit an invoice to your for payment of services rendered. You may choose to submit a superbill that I can provide to your insurance company for at least partial reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits for individual psychotherapy. The second option is self-pay, in which health insurance is not involved with payment for my services.
What are your fees?
My fee for 45-minute sessions is $250. I do offer a sliding scale based on need on a case-by case basis that would be mutually agreed upon before treatment begins. I accept stripe for payment through the HIPAA-compliant EMR that I use.
How often do we meet?
We meet on a weekly basis on the same day and time that is mutually convenient.
Do you do telehealth services only?
I provide video telehealth through a HIPAA-compliant zoom account only until further notice. Research has shown that telehealth can be just as effective as in-person psychotherapy. It can also be more efficient by elliminating the stressors of physical commuting and provide comfort of your home. It is important that our sessions are private. The benefits and caveats of telehealth are provided in my consent form before treatment begins.
What questions should I ask my health insurance company?
- Do I have out-of-network benefits for individual psychotherapy?
- Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it?
- What is my patient responsibility for out-of-newtork individiual psychotherapy payment?
- Do I have a limited number of sessions for individual psychotherapy?
Who I work best with/ Scope of Practice
Who I work best with: Adults navigating OCD, ASD/ADHD, mood disorders, racial/cultural identity issues, relationship concerns, life and health transitions, or chronic health conditions — especially those who are curious, high-functioning, and motivated to do active work in session.
What I don’t treat: My practice doesn’t currently provide care for personality disorders, eating disorders, active suicidality or self-harm, substance use disorders, or psychosis. These conditions are often best supported by providers or programs with specialized training and a higher level of care than outpatient individual therapy can offer. If any of these are your primary concern, I’m happy to help you find a referral that’s the right fit.
